Thank Heavens...
... the snow finally melted.
Memories of childhood frolicking for hours out of doors, making snowmen and battling with local children in snowball battles are long past. The snow just went on and on this time and it is a great relief to be able to see the garden again.
A tall Azara that was bent double for days under a heavy cushion of snow just snapped back into position, no harm done.
Some very unusual photos were made, however.
Who would have thought I could have seen this outside my bedroom window?

Noir Overload
It has been a Noirish year...
For 2011 I shall stay with primary colours and find the simple pigments that make a day bright.
However, 2010 had some moments where black and red were the best combination...
