A year's work in blogging has brought many benefits.
Last November there were few comments on my blogs.
Now I am delighted to say that chatting with other
bloggers has become one of the most pleasant aspects
of this new activity.

And now you have people who will stop by to leave an inane little comment, just to say, "hello!" :)
Which proves that there is an Internet community... a heartening thought.
But then they don't know how to stop responding to the comments, so you go on inanely for a long time, until both parties are happy to have maybe had a vacation in the way or something....
Or not. :)
